Rock Pi X: A Tiny Windows / Linux Mini PC SBC Starting at $39
The Rock Pi X is a new affordable Raspberry Pi alternative with an Intel Cherry Trail processor that costs less than US$40 developed by the Radaxa company. It comes with an identical smaller form-factor as the Raspberry Pi board series, meaning with the exact PCB dimensions of 85 x 52 mm and hole distances. Powered by an Intel Atom x5-Z8300 CPU that is very cost-effective with low consumption.
The ROCK Pi X comes in two models, Model A and Model B, each model has 1GB, 2GB or 4GB ram options. For the detailed difference of Model A and Model B starting from US$20-$39 for the basic editions, and US$75 for the most expensive model with LPDDR3 RAM priced at US$75.
All Rock Pi X low and high-end editions feature an Intel Cherry Trail quad-core processor Z8300, 64bit dual channel 1866Mb/s LPDDR3, up to 4K@30 HDMI, MIPI DSI, eDP, MIPI CSI, 3.5mm jack with mic, 802.11 ac WIFI, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Port, GbE LAN, 40-pin color expansion header, RTC. Moreover, the ROCK Pi X offers support for USB PD and QC power supply.
The Rock Pi X 40-pin Raspberry Pi compatible header too and supports several OSs, mainly Windows 10 and Debian, Ubuntu. Other Linux distributions are also expected to come out in the near future, but there is no specific time frame when images will be developed.
