Connectivity
The R3 Mini board is equipped with a set of three short external SMA antennas. This device boasts support for both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands, including the advanced WiFi 6 technology. By combining the power of these two bands, it enables users to achieve blazing-fast bandwidth speeds.
The Banana Pi R3 and R3 Mini both utilize the MediaTek MT7986 (also referred to as Filogic 830) chip, resulting in virtually identical WiFi network performance. We managed to achieve an impressive network speed of around 840-930Mbps with our 1 GB fiber internet service provider plan, just one meter away from our mobile device. When further away, the average network speeds reached between 100 and 400Mbps.

iPerf Throughput test (Wired connection)
We decided to test the full potential of our wired LAN connection by using the two 2.5GbE ports at our disposal. We set up our R3 Mini as the main server and our Windows 11 workstation as the client device. The results we obtained indicate a maximum achievable bandwidth of 2.36Gbps.
