Official Specs Released for the Orange Pi AIPro SBC Series (8T/20T)

Orange Pi officially announced the arrival of a cutting-edge single-board computer that we previously introduced a few months ago, and it goes by the name of the Orange Pi AIPro (8T). This board has been meticulously designed to cater to a wide range of artificial intelligence applications, ensuring it meets all your project requirements.

One of its standout features is the snappy quad-core 64-bit processor developed by Huawei, although the specific name of the processor is still under wraps. With an extraordinary AI inference performance capability of up to 8 TOPS (INT8), it offers incredible efficiency, and for those who demand even more power, there is another variant that can deliver a jaw-dropping 20 TOPS (INT8) of performance, including a large amount of memory (12GB/24GB configuration).

The Basic variant (INT8) includes up to 16GB LPDDR4X and a 32MB SPI flash, while also allowing for additional storage options like a microSD card, an eMMC flash module, and/or an M.2 NVMe or SATA SSD. It is equipped with two HDMI 2.0 ports, one MIPI DSI connector, a 3.5mm audio jack, two MIPI CSI camera interfaces, Gigabit Ethernet, and Wi-Fi 5 connectivity, a number of USB ports, and a 40-pin GPIO header for expansion.

Updated Product Specifications Unveiled

Orange Pi has now translated the product page into English, and you’ll find the user manual in English and links to Ubuntu and openEuler images in the Download section. So, it should be much easier to get started for people who can’t read simplified Chinese. The company also designed a new Orange Pi AIPro (20T) with a 20 TOPS Huawei Ascend SoC, up to 24 GB of RAM, and a fairly different layout. The product page is up, but it’s not available for sale on Amazon at this time.

Price and Availability

The AIPro boards are now globally accessible. Originally launched exclusively on JD.com in China, the company has either revised its strategy or secured permission from Huawei, allowing for broader distribution over a year later. Currently, the Orange Pi AIPro (8T) featuring 16GB RAM, is available on AliExpress for just $143.99, complete with a heat sink. Additionally, the Orange Pi AIPro (20T) with 12GB RAM can be purchased for $195.49, also including a heat sink.
