Orange Pi AI Max: High-performance AI-focused SBC
A chip race is currently underway to enhance ARM boards with advanced AI capabilities. We have acquired new details regarding the soon-to-be-released SBC, Orange Pi AI Max. The new board is expected to be powered by a RockChip RK3588 Soc powered by an Octa Core processor. The focus of the event will be on AI applications and the interesting collaboration between Huawei and Orange Pi. The new board will feature two Ascend 310B AI Chips, which will significantly improve the AI computing performance, making it more powerful yet affordable.
Focusing on AI: So What’s New?
Based on our updated info, the total Tops (Tera Operations Per Second), the measurement measure of computational power, indicates how many trillion operations a processor can handle in a single second on this board is composed of 6T + 20T + 20T. The RK3588 Chip is expected to support 6 Tops and the other two Ascend 310B will offer 20 Tops each, therefore the total Tops on the board will be 6T + 20T + 20T, which equals 46 Tops. This high level of computational power makes the board suitable for demanding AI and machine learning applications.
Additional RAM
According to the latest information, the Orange Pi AI Max is set to offer 16 GB of RAM along with 12 GB for each of the AI chips in the 16GB+12GB+12GB configuration.
Interfaces
The board’s design includes a comprehensive array of features, including x5 USB Host ports, dual Ethernet ports, a full-size header pin, onboard microphone, operation buttons, a 3.5 mm Audio In/Out port, and an IR blaster sensor. This combination of hardware components provides extensive functionality for various applications and ensures versatility in connectivity and user interaction. The engineering photo effectively showcases the layout and placement of these key elements, offering a clear insight into the board’s expected capabilities.
